Summer Learning Journey: Week 4 Day 18 Activity 2

Activity 2
On your blog, post a picture of the animals and tell us a bit about them. What are they called? Where do they live? What do they eat?

Kiwi, They are known as the animal of New Zealand, the bird. All kiwis live in New Zealand. It depends on the type of kiwi that you are talking about when it comes to habitat preference. They eat worms.

Albatross, They are large seabirds that eat cephalopods, fish, crustaceans and offal. There are 21 species of albatross that live mainly in the south hemisphere.

    You are the first person to choose the 'Albatross' for this activity and I'm really glad that you have. It's a pretty unusual looking bird that very few people know much about. In fact, I did not know anything about them until I moved to New Zealand because we don't have any albatross living in Canada!

    I did not know, however, that there were 21 different species of albatross. That's pretty amazing. Do you know how many, if any, of the different species live here in New Zealand?
